| 1736 - Group Financial Controller Our Client and the Role: Our Client is an industry leader in the provision of risk related consulting, management and logistics services that builds resilience into their clients business in order to prevent, manage and respond to their clients operational challenges in a proactive and effective manner. They are currently seeking a Group Operational Finance Manager (GOFM) to be based at their corporate headquarters in Dubai. This is a permanent position on an open ended contract. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the GOFM is responsible for supporting the profitability of programmes and projects through working at the leading edge of winning and delivering business. Whilst working to the objectives of the CFO, the GOFM will maintain close relationships with regional, country and project management teams in ensuring both support and oversight. The role will also support the business development functions in the Group through assisting in pricing, inventory development, procurement and supply chain management. The role will be responsible to educate, train and mentor embedded team personnel in regional and country management teams and well as project and program leadership. Specifically you will be responsible for the preparation of annual operational budgets and project cash flow projections working directly with in country management teams. You will prepare annual business development budget and monitor actual performance. You will analyze operational cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. You will carry out reporting as per regulatory and legal requirements, including taxation, annual reports and accounts. You will carry out cost build out and pricing of new business submissions including development and pricing of inventories. On award you will issue operating budgets inside Project Initiation Documents and commencing and providing oversight of procurement and supply chain management. You will ensure all items procured are brought onto the Group inventor. You will monitor the project’s progress including supporting project level P&L. You will assist in tax and other statutory obligations and will supervise invoice development, AR/ AP and Ageing Summaries. You will deal with clients on project based invoicing/ pricing and will support re-pricing for extensions/ expansions. You will remediate any finance/ accounting errors including implementing cost controls and support client audits. Finally you will produce any special purpose reports that may be requested by the CFO or DCEO. Knowledge and Skills: To meet this unique challenge, you will be an accomplished finance professional with some of your experience ideally gained in a multinational environment, post conflict countries and emerging markets. Your practical finance experience should be supported by the completion of a professional accounting qualification or Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. You will have demonstrable knowledge of accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including accepted accounting principles, knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and knowledge of relevant financial regulations. You will have the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections using various instruments of finance (IRR, NPV, ROCE and ROI). You will have the ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. You will be able to participate in and lead facilitate group meetings. You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail. Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate particularly in MS Office and spread sheets. This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished finance professional looking for something different. The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight per year.
