Job Description

As a provider of multi-disciplined technical services, my client is committed to design excellence in the delivery of first class solutions which combine innovation, imagination and best practice.
Due to our continuing expansion we now require Senior Structural Engineers to provide expertise on multi-disciplinary projects from our Global Design Centre Sharjah, UAE. Working in a multidisciplinary team of Engineers / Architects providing a professional design service to our clients, this is a great opportunity for Structural Engineers to gain additional and more technical exposure within an internationally renowned consultant.
To fill up our current openings in Sharjah, we are inviting suitable candidates to work on large scale multidisciplinary projects.

Requirements

Essential


• B. Eng., M.Eng or B.Sc in Engineering (min 5 to 6 years of university study) and with more than 4 - 8 years of experience.
• Have completed a broad range of building types with significant high rise and large scale projects.
• Detail knowledge of international codes including NFPA Codes.
• Demonstrated experience in specifications and construction details
• Understanding of British Standards and American standards. Including CIBSE recommendations, ASHRAE,
• Demonstrable experience in and commitment to low energy design.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, ETABS, ROBOT, STAAD, pROKON, sTRAND7. Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
• Knowledge of Integrated team project delivery.
• Qualified Engineer registered with an internationally recognized Registration Board or process of obtaining.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsible for the production drawings and coordination of from concept design through schematic design, detail design and tender documents under the guidance of a senior engineer.
• Coordinate with other disciplines of the integrated team sharing that responsibility.
• Lead work with an aim of excellence in design quality and documentation.
• Coach team members toward quality and completeness of their work.
• Take ownership of drawing production progress, design development issues, detail design queries and coordination issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Review team performance to ensure for the correctness and ‘absolute accuracy’ of drawing work, quality, layout and notes and coordination of drawings amongst the team.
• Resolve elements of the design or details that are not working and provide constructive feed back to team members.
• Plan the project production programme, deliverables within the available fee at the beginning of each stage; continuously monitor to achieve the objectives. Coach team members toward optimal use of resources, best practices and excellence.
• Be focused and work in earnest to achieve high quality and drawing.
