| Sr Officer ( Occupational & Environmental Health ) Job Description Brings together existing expertise in Abu Dhabi and global best practice to create a high-performing Occupational & Environmental Health team across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi; drives implementation of effective interventions Manage regional Occupational & Environmental Health teams to: Develop strong evidence base for Abu Dhabi Occupational & Environmental Health • Review existing literature on Occupational & Environmental Health in Abu Dhabi • Drive targeted research into priority areas to close any current gaps • Work with HAAD to drive development and operation of pan-Emirate data systems Prioritise Occupational & Environmental Health issues • Collaborate with Public Health team, other teams at HAAD, and external stakeholders (as required) to draw-up and regularly review a priority list of Occupational & Environmental Health issues every 3 months Drive implementation of effective interventions • Work with Public Health team, others at HAAD and external stakeholders (as required) to – Identify specific interventions to address priority issues – Drive specific interventions through approval process – Lead development of implementation plan • Lead the performance management of ongoing interventions to drive quality and continuous improvement • Spin-out interventions when appropriate Contribute, where appropriate, to write-ups in journals Education: Medical or relevant Occupational Health degree Experience: >3 years experience in Occupational and/or Environmental Health Language: • Fluent English, written and spoken • Fluent Arabic, written and spoken Competencies: • Proven track-record leading evidence-based change • Strong track-record in team work, including driving change through managing others • Strong communication skills • Good computer skills • Strongly motivated to improve health of the Abu Dhabi population • Qualification in Public Health, Epidemiology and/or Environmental Health desirable | |
