| Environmental Scientist/Engineer RTI is an independent, nonprofit organization with a distinguished history in scientific research and technology development. We serve clients in government, industry, academia, and public service throughout the United States and abroad. RTI employs a worldwide staff of more than 2500 people, representing a diverse set of technical capabilities. Our Environmental Health and Safety Division(EHS) provides a wide range of HSE services to clients in oil & gas, government, industry and commercial organizations in the UAE and other countries in the Gulf region. We are currently seeking candidates to support a multi-year environmental project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Working in a challenging, multi-disciplinary environment with a dynamic group of professional staff under the guidance of a senior engineer and Program Manager you will work as part of a RTI-UAE project team addressing critical national and regional environmental and pollution problems that threaten the continued development and health of UAE communities and ecosystems. Our growth-oriented workplace will give you the opportunity to apply and develop your technical skills while learning how to participate in and manage complex assignments that support environmental decision-making. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to conduct scientific analysis and modeling studies relating to evaluating and managing environmental projects. These posts will be based in Abu Dhabi and may involve occasional travel to other parts of the Middle East. Technical responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Researching pollution control technologies for commercial and industrial sources. • Investigating methods for estimating and monitoring environmental releases and Characterizing pollution sources. • Conducting emission estimates and emission inventories for industrial processes • Participating in site visits and inspections of industrial facilities. • Preparing industrial process descriptions and sector assessments. • Evaluating regulatory compliance with established UAE and international regulations, and developing and implementing regulatory compliance strategies. • Familiarity with occupational/industrial health risk assessment is an advantage. • conducting site visits Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related area • Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills are required • Arabic language skills are a plus Desired experience in one or more of the following activities: • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) review and development; • Marine & land baseline surveys; • Air, noise, and water (surface and groundwater) quality assessments. • You should have independently carried out and/or evaluated EIA Studies for Oil & Gas Operations, Power Plants, Manufacturing, and Infrastructure/Development Projects. • Experience in environmental project work including client management responsibilities. • Demonstrated experience in leading projects, managing budgets, and motivating staff for environmental projects. • Experience in providing international consultancy services in the Gulf region would be particularly beneficial. • EHS industrial risk assessment. | |
