Our client is a privately owned air charter and logistics company. They operate a fleet of aircraft (both passenger and cargo) and helicopters operating throughout The Middle East, Europe, Africa and near Asia.

They are currently seeking a Commercial Manager to be based at their Head Office in Dubai.

The successful candidate will be tasked with continuing to develop the already successful Commercial Air Operations that our client conducts. Existing operations include scheduled charter operations both passenger and cargo in Iraq, Turkey the Gulf States and Afghanistan. In addition ad hoc passenger and cargo flights are conducted in Africa and Europe. The Company also has a Helicopter Operation in Iraq and will shortly be expanding its Helicopter Operations into Africa and Afghanistan.

You will be required to advise the CEO on all aspects of Aviation Business Development, Aircraft Acquisition and Regulatory/ Compliancy Requirements for both International and Middle East Procedures.

Whilst the position is based in Dubai, the successful candidate will be expected to travel freely throughout Europe, Africa, Middle East, former CIS countries and Afghanistan.

Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate will have a long and proven history in the aviation sector with extensive knowledge of Charter Operations, Wet and Dry Lease arrangements, Aircraft Ownership and the regulatory requirements for an AOC holder.

A proven history in business development, of particular interest would be someone with experience of working in and developing a ‘Start Up’ Airline.

You should be fluent in English and Arabic (Some Russian is desirable but not essential)

A working knowledge of Helicopter Operations is desirable but not essential.

You should have the ability to integrate oneself seamlessly into our clients existing company management structure and rapidly become an effective member of our clients senior team.

You should have proven ability to work unsupervised in difficult conditions having developed a thorough understanding of our clients business such that the CEO will quickly have confidence in the position holder’s decision making process.

Superb business analytical, negotiation skills and good commercial acumen are essential supported by high personal energy levels and enthusiasm.

Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate, particularly in Excel.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Commercial Manager looking for something different.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.

In addition the job holder will receive a monthly housing allowance of 2,500 USD per month, a company car, medical insurance, a laptop and mobile phone. The holiday entitlement is 30 days.

Ex-Patriate employees will also receive 1 paid return economy flight per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
