| Investment accountant The Role The Role -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My client a leading financial institute in Abu Dhabi is looking for an investment accountant who is able to carry out the following: Variety of bookkeeping activities related to investment accounting. Includes preparing vouchers, detailing transactions, entering details in journal or general ledgers, making monthly trial balances, preparing profit and loss statements and reconciling various accounts. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FREQUENCY Receives accounting documents, such as swift messages and summaries of portfolios together with instructions as to action to be taken, prepares related voucher indicating specific details of transaction. Posts approved vouchers to appropriate sub ledger and general ledger. Makes monthly trial balances for journal and general ledgers. Maintains subsidiary ledgers for profit and loss accounts and prepares trial balances. Ensures accurate development and timely production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and performance reports, as directed. Verifies and processes custody and investment manager fee payments. Reconciles various accounts monthly, and passes to supervisor for review and endorsement. Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned. Requirements Requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Education Chartered Accountant or equivalent education/experience preferred Required Experience A minimum of 3 years of experience in similar or complementary roles within financial institutions or department dedicated to Financial Institutions. Experience with Financials System and MIS. Very strong excel skills essential. Experience with specialized financial software such as Bloomberg/ Datastream/Factset is desirable | |
