The Company:

Our client is 25 years old this year and purely specialises in M&E work internationally. They have a turnover in excess of £35m and employ over 1500 employees. They do a lot of commercial and residential projects and some include a 54 storey office tower complex, a 10 storey luxury hotel and various office buildings. They are looking for an M&E Contracts Manager to come in and work on various different projects based in Dubai.

The Role:

Reporting to the General Manager;
My client is looking for an experienced M&E Contracts Administrator for a number of Commercial & Residential projects they are currently working on in Dubai & Abu Dhabi.

- Establish policies and procedures for the efficient performance of the Department.
- Effectively perform within all applicable and pertinent budgets.
- Provide leadership on all matters related to this role.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
- Identify and satisfy the training needs of the Department’s staff.
- Take the lead in the execution and timely production of all projects except where specifically excluded; liaise with the ENGINEERING Department.
- Ensure safety on all sites is given top priority.
- Review project requirements and identify deliverables; provide reports.
- Perform all functions relating to procurement in line with the Procurement Policy and Matrix.
- Produce and update programmes to meet project requirements.
- Assign onsite staff and equipment, in co-ordination with other Departments, based on the company’s available resources.
- Identify the labour needs for all projects, assign and monitor to ensure its effective utilisation; provide regular reports.
- Monitor progress at sites for adherence to programmes; provide regular reports.
- Provide regular and timely reports on projects including feedback on all site and project related matters.
- Assist the COMMERCIAL Department on QS-ing matters, ensuring the timely receipt of agreement to changes, payments, the timely issuance of notices, etc. Take the lead in the notification of changes; assist with the provision of details.
- Ensure positive relations with the company’s clients including the client’s engineers and other representatives.
- Take timely and effective decisions to rectify adversity in programmes and ensure timely project “Close-Outs.”
- Prepare project “Close-Out” O&M Manuals, etc, and assist with the production pf As-Installed drawings (by regularly updating).

Requirements:

- 8 years + experience as an Contracts Administrator
- At least 3 years spent in M&E (MEP)
- Professional Memberships are advantageous
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or construction related subject is desirable but not a must
- Commercial / Residential Background
- International Experience is hugely desirable
- Very good organising & management skills
- Comfortable in giving reports
- A dynamic person who can think outside the box
- Someone who is more of an organiser/manager rather than hands on construction
