Sustainability Construction Manager

dcarbon8 is a leading sustainability and carbon consultancy company with a
rapidly expanding client base of multi-national companies, ranging from
architects, developers and contractors in the construction industry to
supermarket chains, retailers and furniture manufacturers. We work actively in
the UK, Middle East, Far East and US.

We are recruiting a Sustainable Construction Consultant for overseas work in
sustainable construction. You will be working as part of a multi-billion pound
international construction project, with the responsibilities of achieving some of
the strictest sustainability requirements including Key Performance Indicators
covering energy/carbon, water, waste and sustainable materials management
through Life Cycle Assessment / Systems Thinking.
Applying broad environmental sustainability knowledge, the successful candidate
will run the project’s Sustainability Management System in coordination with the
main contractor and developer.

Responsible for scoping, monitoring, reduction action plans and reporting, the
successful candidate must have experience of:

• BREEAM/LEED (or relevant international) green building standards
• Energy/Carbon assessments, particularly in the construction environment
• Commercial and practical understanding of building design & construction
• Environmental Management Systems (EMS) compliance & auditing skills
• Project Management & client liaison
Other desirable capabilities include:
• BREEAM/LEED (or relevant international) green building standard
education
• Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) / Systems thinking
• Construction waste & water management
• Experience in CAD and LCA programs (e.g. SimaPro/GaBi)
Education and Experience

Requirements:
• 2.1 or above in a relevant BSc / BEng undergraduate degree
• MSc in Environmental Engineering, or related topic desirable
• At least 3 years experience in environmental / sustainable construction
• Specific knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), construction or
manufacturing industry desirable.
