1. Sharjah Teaching HospitalSharjah Teaching Hospital is a private, not-for-profit 210-bed hospital located alongside the Medical School at Sharjah University in the emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The hospital was established by HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi with the objective of providing state-of-the-art, world standard healthcare in the fields of Obstetrics/Gyanaecology; Medical and Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Surgical Services and Emergency Department services to the Sharjah community. The hospital employs approximately 770 employees and has an anticipated turnover of Dhs.200million per year. Sharjah Teaching Hospital is strongly affiliated with the tertiary sector via the Medical School at Sharjah University which has a relationship with the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University in Melbourne Australia, and the dental degree course based on the University of Adelaide curriculum.
Position SummaryThis position manages the day to day function and provision of service of the Pharmacy Department and its staff at Sharjah Teaching Hospital in the provision of pharmacy services.

4. Responsibilities & Accountabilities Manage the day to day planning for STH Pharmacy Department
Establish work rosters to ensure the Pharmacy Department is available to provide appropriate level of service at all times
Assist in achieving key results as defined in the Pharmacy Department business plan are met
Ensure the pharmaceutical practices at STH complies with relevant UAE and international legislation, security and quality guidelines
Implement policy based on the relevant drug legislation in the UAE
Regularly evaluate the performance of drugs at STH using surveys and spot checks
Effectively manage people within the department, including selection, retention, appraisal, recognition, training and development, consultation, communications and provision of a safe workplace
Assist in ensuring appropriate communication of pharmacy and STH issues to all members of the pharmacy department
Develop useful relationships with colleague sin other health and pharmacy services5. Key Person SpecificationsQualifications/Experience
Tertiary qualification in Pharmacy
Management experience in a medium to large hospital Pharmacy
5-8 years in a similar position within a medium to large hospitalKey Behavioural Requirements

Strong management and communication skills

Mandatory: Achievement of Qualifications and Experience as outlined

Demonstrated experience in the provision of pharmaceutical service within a medium to large hospital
Demonstrated experience in the day to day management of a hospital based Pharmacy
Demonstrated experience in managing a team to achieve quality health care outcomes
Proven ability to develop and implement policies and procedures as required
Demonstrated commitment to the process of Clinical Governance
Demonstrated ability to be flexible in different cultural environments
