| MEP Contracts Manager Prime Objective: End to end management and delivery of projects within the stipulated time frame, with right quality in a cost effective manner. Key Tasks: Pre-Construction. Overall responsibility to deliver a project within the time frame under allocated budget with the right quality to the satisfaction of client and consultant. Study & Review the provisions in any new awarded tender. Review drawings, site and all the related provisions and highlight any discrepancies to Commercial manager and if further required to client. Liaise with programming department for producing the correct construction program. Follow up with design for shop drawings and to ensure that the drawings comply with the provisions made during tender stage. Arrange material submittals for consultant’s approval. Follow up with consultant/client for the approval of the shop drawings and material submittals. Identify any variations and bring it to the notice of Commercial Manager for further action and as required liaise with client for approval of the same. Organise, co-ordinate the transition of the project from pre-construction to post construction along with the pre-contract committee. Project Specific Duties. Full responsibility of the construction and project management as per program. Produce and manage RFI schedules, Procurement schedules and other standard forms. Review, monitor and utilise the site staff and labour to ensure cost effective way of project delivery. Manage Subcontractors on site. Full responsibly for all correspondence to client, consultant, suppliers and subcontractors. Responsible for project specific purchases and materials delivered on correct time. Liaising with local authorities to ensure the relevant approvals are in place. Liaise with other contractors (like gypsum, civil etc) to ensure complete co-ordination on site. Ensure plant, labour and materials are within the original allocation. Finalise any value engineering possible with Commercial Manager. Identify and formalise any variation during project execution in conjunction with the MEP Commercial Manager. Ensure that the installation complies with the specifications and best practices in the industry. Responsible to ensure the QA/QC mechanism required for the project. Arrange for the relevant authority inspections upon project completion. Ensure that the installations are tested and commissioned to the relevant standards. Ensure that the final close out documentation is produced and communicated to client and consultant. Chairing weekly Sub Contractors Meeting and recording minutes. Attend site meetings. Overseeing in conjunction with the project team all contract correspondence and contractual administration/notifications, for e.g.: Notification letters. Contract Records. Information required schedules in conjunction with the Commercial Manager. Checking important domestic and nominated sub-contracts. Attending internal meetings. REPORTS The Contracts Manager is responsible for producing the following reports Produce monthly cost report on each project. Monthly labour, plant, material utilisation report Essential Skills and Qualifications: Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Graduate. Extensive knowledge MEP industry from design and construction. Knowledge of specifications, materials and industry best practices. Minimum 6 years relevant experience of which at least 4 years in project management/construction. Good understanding of contracts and commercial aspects. Good written and aural communication skills. UAE/equivalent driving license. Preferable Skills and Qualifications: Membership in ASHREA or IEEE is desirable. | |
