MEP – PROJECT MANAGER

ONLY CANDIDATES WITH PROJECT MANAGEMENT/MEP PROJECT EXECUTION / INSTALLATION COMPANY EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED.

The incumbent will supervise work on execution of MEP project with special emphasis on MEP services.

Reports to: Project Director / General Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Depth Study of drawings, specifications and provide technical clearance to subordinates such as site engineers / site foremen.
• Follow up with consultant for material / subcontractors submittal and approval on time in coordination with main contractors/consultants/clients.
• Timely submission of clarification if found any variance with drawings and actual site condition.
• Produce sufficient data for Variation Orders and timely communicate to client in coordination with General Manager / Contract / Estimation section.
• Responsibilities of managing the all Managers/Engineers/Sub-contractors and shall cover complete MEP systems.
• Governance and oversight of all project activities and assigned work responsibilities to site engineers and foremen.
• Should be familiar with MEP systems such as Electrical, ELV, HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, GAS, Fire Protection and Fire Alarm systems.
• Responsible for overall plan, design/engineering /coordination and implementation / execution of respective services including control and monitoring of progress.
• To comprehensively study the relevant international standards / local
regulations / standards and practices and adopt the same applicable.
• To carry out the design and drawings ensuring its optimization and full compliance with the contract including local regulations / practices /laws.
• To prepare comprehensive builder’s works drawings with coordination among all P. Es and any other parties if required, for the best implementation and installation of services.
• Identify training needs of the project team members reporting him and arrange for suitable training for them, in consultation with C.M for furtherance of their professional skills and competence.
• To prepare "As-Built Drawings" and O & M Manuals.
• To initiate / prepare Engineering /Material submittals, Vendor approvals, RFI’s /ITP’s/ Method Statement etc.,
• Prepare schedule of work / Bill of Material and float the enquiries for subcontract works/ Materials /Systems as per the contract specifications and drawings.
• Ensure minimum three quotations are obtained for every project.
• Evaluate offers and prepare a comparative statement with respect to technical as well as commercial parameters.
• Carryout necessary follow-ups with vendors / suppliers / sub-contractors for timely execution / delivery of the ordered items.
• Inspect (in conjunction with QC Engineer) the material delivered to the site stores and there upon prepare /submit the inspection request to the Consultants.
• To plan and timely arrange any special unloading / storage requirements, in co ordination with Project Manager, MEP Co-ordinator and Contruction Manager
• Carryout follow-ups with respect to replacement / delivery of any defective / rejected / materials or short delivered items.
• Ensuring that the quality of material and installation of works are in accordance with the acceptance criteria, specifications, approved materials and methods of installation approved for the project.
• Efficient planning and optimum utilization of Material and Manpower.
• Monitoring productivity and compiling relevant information on production rates.
• Proactive coordination with civil contractor / subcontractors for effective execution of works.
• Prepare and project any requirement with respect to materials, plant and tools and manpower or any other items whatsoever required for timely /safe execution of respective services / activities.
• Ensuring that safety rules and regulations are communicated to the workforce and are fully enforced.
• Coordinating and monitoring of all sub-contractors work closely to ensure that the quality of the work is in full compliance to the contract specification, project quality plan and is completed of time.
• Ensuring that all information / drawings are issued / conveyed to the workforce in a proper manner and details produced are in compliance to the requirement.
• Follow up with subcontractor for delivery of material on time.
• Attend all weekly management/consultant/main contractor/client meeting and follow up the action assigned on the specified dates without any delays.
• Prepare recovery schedule to meet the original plan if delay founds.
• Supervise the Project staff (as mentioned in the project organizational chart) and make sure that all of them are executing works in accordance to the Job description.
• Conduct evaluation of subcontractors who completed the assigned task not late by 2 weeks using prescribed formats ISO 9001:2000.
• Ensure the latest drawing issued to site and previous “VOID” according to ISO 9001:2000
• Proceed Internal supply Orders (ISO) at least before 3 week from the date of material needs and forwarded it to the Operation Manager for approval. (urgent requests shall not exceeds 15 % of total requests).
• Follow up with purchasing until finalization of requested ISO and items delivery, and report any delay to the Proejct Director / General Manager as needed beforehand.
• Make sure that all the monitoring/measuring equipments used in the Project are calibrated as mentioned in the approved procedure.
• Make sure that all employees in the project are following the safety requirements as per the Guthrie Safety Policy.
• Initiate the Fast Accident Report immediately when any accident/incident noticed, and then forward it to the Safety Officer, Administration and Personnel Dept. Manager and General Manager.
• Make sure that the housekeeping issues were implemented in different locations in the site.
• Attend the periodic meetings with the Client/Consultant as required from their side and keep minutes of meeting.
• Take proactive leadership role to improve process improvement programs in all areas of project delivery and management.
• Mentoring of works execution in terms of quality required and scheduled time.
• Ensure that the project addressed overall objectives and program executed on time without waste and delay.
• Prepare recovery schedule to meet the original plan if delay founds.
• Ensure subcontractors payment assess accordingly and forwarded to Operation Manager for approval on timely manner considering sufficient safety margin (i.e. retention of money).
• Conduct evaluation of subcontractors who completed the assigned task not late by 2 weeks using prescribed formats ISO 9001:2000.
• Conduct staff evaluation twice a year (i.e. every 6 month) and forward to Operation Manager with corrective actions in coordination with General Manager staff’s capability.
• Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Project Director / General Manager.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Ensure that subordinates are following approved formats prescribed by ISO 9001:2000.
• Ensure filing system compliance with ISO 9001:2000 and matching with main office filing.
• Performs any other duties assigned by Project Director/General Manager.

Expected Deliverables:
• Timely approval of materials, subcontractors as well shop drawings.
• Timely delivery of materials with required quantity and minimum % of wastage
• Submission of invoice on time compliance with cash flow issued by planning.
• Identification of variation and communication on time to client/ General Manager/Operation Manager/estimation.
• Generation of sufficient data for further justification as well records.
• Operation of site without any stoppage, strikes as well delay.


Skills
• ONLY CANDIDATES WITH MEP PROJECT EXECUTION / INSTALLATION COMPANY EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED.

• Knowledge of safety standards
• Good knowledge of project planning team handling ability & ability to adhere to schedules and getting the same executed.
Educations
• Bachelor's Degree and Master Degree
• Professional Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience more than 5-10 years in MEP field.
• Required language(s): English.
• Strong leadership qualities.
