| Head Mechanical Engineer Highly interested in teamwork, and a motivated team member plus an ideal team leader. 2. Planning and scheduling of material movement, manpower mobilization and various activities, coordinating with other connected agencies, timely interaction with subcontractors for them to carry out their portion of work to ensure a smooth and timely completion of the project. 3. Technical ability to thoroughly comprehend all things Mechanical on site. 4. Prepare shop drawing details for HVAC, Drainage, Fire Fighting and Plumbing services in conjunction with project specifications and standards / regulations of local authorities, ADSSC/ADDC etc. 5. Preparation of Material Specifications (according to the specifications and site requirements). 6. Coordinate with Site Engineers for inspections and field quality checks on site. 7. Monitor project performance (quality, schedule and budget management). 8. Responsibility for coordinating all aspects of mechanical engineering projects on the site. 9. Review/establish project scopes, mechanical budgets, feasibility studies and project cost estimates. Design and / or approve mechanical systems, HVAC, piping and plumbing systems as required. 10. Coordinate technical and administrative activities with those of other disciplines and other departments in the company that are participating in a project. 11. Submit daily progress reports to the MEP Manager/Project Manager in an accurate and in a timely manner. 12. Attend all required site meetings. 13. Take ownership and responsibility for the task at hand, the completion of every part of the respective area of the project and ensure the MEP Manager is kept informed of all matters relating to the areas of your responsibility. 14. When representing the company to a third party, to ensure it is handled with diplomacy and accuracy in all matters. 15. Calculate & where required list (take-off) quantities of materials required (from an approved drawing/ design) to price the project. 16. Obtain consultant’s approval for work completed at various stages of the project, either personally or with assistance from site engineers. Skill Requirements: 1. A natural leader who has respect for people and the ability to "bring the best" out of them. 2. An obvious empathy with customers and clients. An ability to quickly grasp changing needs and a talent to translate these into operational reality. 3. A self-starter who is not afraid to challenge received wisdom. 4. The energy and infectious enthusiasm to get things done. 5. The ability to effectively communicate to/with all levels of staff in a patriarchal manner. 6. A basic "common sense" logical approach to problem solving and a thorough understanding of all things Mechanical from HVAC to Plumbing & Drainage to Fire Fighting & Access Control Systems. 7. Not concerned with spending as much time on site as required to ensure the problem at hand is resolved for all concerned. | |
