| Logistics Specialist Job description As Logistics specialist you will be responsible for an effective transport network from a global supply base to Cummins plants, Logistics Centres and Customers. You will report to the Director of Logistics, Corporate Supply Chain. RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure all routes from supplier door to Cummins facilities to meet the requirements of the business (Cost/service levels/quality). To competitively procure road & air transport and international freight lanes to improve efficiency and deliver cost savings. Deliver adherence to procedures relating to accrual of costs, invoicing, cross charging and completion of shipment files. Investigate routings for new customers/destinations and place cargo reservations with agreed airlines, shipping agents or third party carriers. Deliver cost reductions & service improvement through rationalization & innovation. Ensure compliance to all statutory regulations affecting our & contract carrier vehicles. Provide management reports & analysis of costs & conformance to agreed routings & service levels. Liaise with Planning, Customer Services, NPI & Corp Transport teams to ensure transport costs are fully understood & in place before any changes. Conduct quarterly service reviews with all major carriers. Process owner for all operational aspects of Freight Pay Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety aspects of freight movement & adoption of best practise. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent and/or proven experience in a similar role. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Relevant proven experience in a similar role Good Negotiation skills Six Sigma trained preferred Good Conflict management skills Excellent Numeric skills | |
