| Contracts Engineer CONTRACTS ENGINEER Role/Responsibilities A team member reporting to the Contracts Section Leader, the individual will be experienced in the preparation, negotiation and administration of contracts related to the development of offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities. The role will require liaison with contract request initiators, Job Officers and other departmental representatives, up to the level of Team Leader (Departmental Head), and include regular meetings with Shareholders Representatives, other OPCO's and contractor representatives. Responsible for the preparation of Company's construction, operational, drilling and general services contracts to professional standards, and in accordance with Company policy/procedures and local laws & regulations. Provide a contractual follow-up service to effect the proper implementation of contracts. Provide a supporting service in the interpretation of contracts during the course of administration or at contract closeout. Specific Activities/Duties • Participate in pre-tender stages to develop suitable contracting strategies to meet the Company's business objectives. • Develop, in conjunction with Job Officer, proposed bid lists for Company and/or Shareholders approval. • Participate in development/ pre-qualification of new sources/ bidders. • Prepare Invitation To Tender (ITT) packages, including; conditions of contract, scope of work, remuneration and health, safety and environmental sections, including the liaison with other departments to ensure that the ITT complies with the latest Company policies. • Conduct the tender evaluation process including attendance at meetings, both internally and with tenderers, to clarify commercial and technical related issues. • Prepare the commercial evaluation, participate in reviewing the technical evaluation and develop the overall evaluation paper. • Prepare the Recommendation To Award documents for Management and/or Shareholders approval. • Prepare the final contract documentation. • Arrange insurance for the project. • Formulate and issue amendments to the contract as and when required and in accordance with Company procedures. • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent with 6 years relevant experience, 3 of which should be in contract preparation, tendering, negotiation and award. Very good working knowledge and of the English Language. | |
